Cinema Saturdays: There's Something About Mary
Remember the movie "A Christmas Story", about a little kid that only wanted a BB gun for Christmas? The author of that story, in an interview before he died, said something like "All great comedy is based on obsession" John Cleese said something very similar. A patron walks into a cheese shop, determined to get some cheese to eat no matter what. A man running a cheese shop is determined to be friendly and helpful to everybody even though there's no cheese to be found; something he can't admit.
Such is comedy.
"There's Something About Mary" is a wonderful movie about obsession. It's full of top-rated actors who hit their marks and make sweet music with their craft. It is full of scenes that are bawdy, in poor taste, and funny as hell, so if you have a sensitive temperament, you should pass. I'm not going to say any more and ruin it. You should watch it.

Locals is turning off their free accounts and I've decided that I'd rather go back to maintaining my own site than sign up for any more "free" services that end up changing the conditions of service later.
